Milbury Systems, precast and prestressed concrete manufacturers is aware of our environmental responsibilities and commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, having achieved the ISO 14001 again in 2011. Therefore we are pleased to see our efforts being passed on to our partners with ten companies being honorably mentioned in the Sunday Times, 60 Best Green Companies 2011 list. Placed 1st is Skanska who themselves are committed to an initiative entitled Deep Green construction which equals a near zero environmental impact.

Carillion is another company that Milbury work closely with supplying products for a variety of uses across a range of projects and are pleased to be associated with a company who have featured in all four of the Sunday Times Best Green Companies 2011 list so far.

Milbury also have direct links with Commercial who supply our office supplies and were positioned 4th out of the total 79 entries, are carbon neutral and are the highest ranking newcomer for 2011.

This year’s Sunday Times Best Green Companies 2011, included the top 60 companies from all types of industry from office supplies to retail right up to big construction companies. What these companies have in common is their desire to make fundamental changes to the way they operate while working towards a greener future, not only within their businesses but in their wider environmental impact too.

Developing a new mindset within companies and considering relevant environmental issues on a daily basis is the key to making progress. The companies that made the Best Green Companies 2011 list show evidence of exactly that within their business on every level.
