Sealant
Product
Syloseal™ gunned mastic sealant is supplied in foil sausages (660ml). It is a one part polyurethane sealant with good adhesion and durability characteristics.
Syloseal™ should be gunned into the 'V' joint between panels so that the sloped sides are fully sealed. It should then be tooled using a moist stick. In certain conditions a primer may be required.
If the gap between panels exceeds 6mm a backing cord may be required.
Allow the sealant to cure before filling the tank - at least one day dependant upon ambient temperature.
Durability
Syloseal™ should have a minimum useful life of 20 years, dependant upon use and maintenance. For slurry applications the anticipated life is 20 years with minimal maintenance, but for mechanically handled products – silage grain etc. – it may be less and require more maintenance.
Maintenance
If the seal is damaged, cut the bead back about 25mm at each end and thoroughly clean the concrete surface to be bonded to.
Re-seal with gunned Syloseal™ which has an excellent adherence to cured mastic.
Functions
Farm use - silage bunkers, slurry systems and tanks, grain stores, push walls, dungsteads, stock walling etc.
Construction and commercial use - retaining walls, above and below ground storage tanks, composters, bio-digesters, blast walls, bunkers, building envelopes (cladding), cellars, tunnels and culverts etc.
Applications
The sealant can be used on the following types of precast, prestressed walling: -
Environments
Syloseal™ is relatively inert to most aggressive chemicals and can be used for the retention of: -
Farm use – farmyard manure, slurry, silage, dirty water, animal remains etc.
Construction and commercial use – most retained soils, slurry, chemical bunds, hydrocarbons and fuels, marine and potable water, dirty water, granular chemicals, compost liquor, digestate, etc.
